  • The Royal Ontario Museum is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the Burgess Shale by the paleontologist Charles D. Walcott.

  • The HMS Beagle Project will be celebrating the bicentenary of Charles Darwin's birth by launching a sailing replica of HMS Beagle. An icon of scientific progress, she will circumnavigate the globe in Darwin's wake, crewed by aspiring scientists and researchers.

University of Dundee College of Life Sciences Postdoc Association

The College of Life Science Postdoc Association (CLSPA) at the University of Dundee was one of the first associations of its kind in the UK. It's run by Postdocs, for Postdocs. The aims of the CLSPA are to (1) provide a voice for Postdocs through interactions with management in the College of Life Sciences, (2) actively encourage and support the career progression of Postdocs, particularly through enhancement of generic skills, (3) catalyse interactions between Postdocs from different subject areas and backgrounds, (4) help new Postdocs with local and departmental orientation, (5) foster a culture of debate, open communication and information access, and (6) help directly, or indirectly with a large variety of issues relating to Postdoc life.
